Dedicated to assisting those organizations that show the helpful, caring, encouraging traits that were Joan.

The Joan Perkowski Cashin Foundation was established in 1998 by Arthur D. Cashin Jr. to honor the memory of his beloved wife, Joan Perkowski Cashin, who passed away that year after a courageous battle with cancer. The Foundation embodies the ideals Joan stood for throughout her life as a nurse, caregiver, and friend — the everyday warmth, encouragement, and steadfastness that touched everyone she met.

The Foundation carries forward that legacy by supporting organizations whose work reflects the traits that made Joan special — helpfulness, compassion, encouragement, and a commitment to those in need.

The Foundation is a private independent foundation registered as a 501(c)(3) organization. It was established in 1998 and received its IRS ruling in 1999. All trustees serve without compensation — a reflection of the Foundation's commitment to ensuring that its resources go directly to the organizations it supports.

The Foundation is now managed by Arthur D. Cashin III and Peter M. Cashin, who serve as co-trustees alongside their father's legacy. They are responsible for managing the Foundation's resources and selecting projects that help execute the Foundation's mission.
